Nitrofurantoin is used for treating and preventing utis a result of certain bacteria. Nitrofurantoin is an antibiotic for specific use in the urinary tract. It works by killing sensitive bacteria.

STORAGE
Store Nitrofurantoin at room temperature, between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C). Store from heat, moisture, and lightweight. Do not store inside bathroom. Keep Nitrofurantoin out of the reach of youngsters and faraway from pets.
All medicines may cause unwanted side effects, but many people have no, or minor, unwanted effects.
Check with your doctor if all of these most typical negative effects persist or become bothersome:
Gas; headache; loss in appetite; mild diarrhea; nausea.
Seek medical attention immediately if these severe unwanted effects occur:
Severe allergy symptoms (rash; hives; itching; lack of breath; tightness inside the chest; swelling in the mouth, face, lips, or tongue; unusual hoarseness); bloody or watery stools; bluish skin or nails; blurred vision and other vision changes; butterfly-shaped rash for the nose and cheeks; confusion; joint or muscle pain; mood or mental changes (eg, depression); persistent sense of being unwell; persistent headache; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; severe or persistent diarrhea; severe stomach pain or cramps; signs of liver problems (eg, yellowing from the eyes or skin, pale stools, severe or persistent nausea or loss in appetite, stomach pain); symptoms of lung problems (eg, fever, chills, chest pain, breathlessness, unusual or persistent cough); tingling, numbness, or burning in the hands or feet; unusual bruising or bleeding; unusual tiredness or weakness.
