INDICATIONS
Nexium relieves heartburn along with other symptoms due to the backflow of stomach acid in to the canal to the stomach (the esophagus)—a condition called gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is additionally indicated to heal the injury (erosive esophagitis) that reflux disease may cause.
Prescribed in conjunction with the antibiotics amoxicillin and clarithromycin, Nexium can also be used to treat chlamydia that causes most duodenal ulcers (ulcers occurring just after dark exit from the stomach).
Nexium operates by decreasing the manufacture of stomach acid.
