INDICATIONS
Aciphex is used for treating heartburn or irritation from the esophagus brought on by gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). It may be useful for short-term treating ulcers of the small intestine. It may be in combination with certain antibiotics to treat ulcers with the small intestine and also to aid the prevention of them from returning. It could possibly be used to treat conditions that cause the body to generate too much stomach acid (eg, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome). Aciphex is often a proton pump inhibitor. It works by lowering the amount of acid created in the stomach.
